I then tried calling it from my cellphone, and the home phone didn't ring, but strangely enough, my wife's cell phone's accession app rang. Since the callback didn't work, I decided to uncheck Accession to see if I could at least get a working landline. I rechecked the Accession box, and nothing got fixed. I powered down the cell phones so no Accession apps were running anywhere. I checked online and the accession box and the Nomorobo boxes were both unchecked (they should have been checked, since that's how they'd been set for as long as I've had the service) and checking the boxes fixed nothing. The Accession app on all my cell phones kept blinking between connected and activating literally every second. I tried placing a call to support, but even though my phone wasn't in use, the callback went to voicemail. Things are VERY BADLY SCREWED UP and I hope that Sonic realizes that leaving people without working phone service is a top priority for other service providers. We use the landline a lot but during the past several weeks, our phone has had abrupt drops when dialing/receiving sometimes our landline does not ring sometimes calls to our landline will receive a message that says phone will not accept calls sometimes we can't dial out of our landline (there is a dialtone before dialing, but thereafter is a faint click followed by silence) sometimes the Accession app on a PC/smart phone will abruptly hang up. Guest wrote:FYI for those who use the Accession soft phone and landline. Will update I get more info from Sonic tech support. The current recommended workaround is to quit Accession from PCs (I did disabled it for all devices-2 Android phones, and 2 PCs), disable Accession in Voice, then power cycling the ATA. Recently the Android app has a new feature that allows one to switch to an existing call. Things have worked for months but it appears it's some recent change in either the app or backend. The "routing" is received by a PC running the app and it's not ringing our landline. I've been told by Sonic tech support it's due to Accession interfering with our landline. Additionally, you can follow the started conversations in the browser, using the Hangouts version for Android or iOS (also available in Uptodown).FYI for those who use the Accession soft phone and landline. Hangouts is an instant messaging tool for your browser that's quite useful and complete and, despite of being a bit minimalist, offers all the benefits you need to communicate with your friends or colleagues from work. In case they're not, you can also leave them messages so that they can read them later and answer you at any moment.įrom the small interface of Hangouts you can also choose if you want to save the conversation history with any friend in particular, if you want to disable the notifications of a user or if you directly want to send the whole conversation to the archive. Hangouts, the instant messaging tool from Google, can also directly be used from Chrome thanks to this extension that will add an icon of the application to the right of your address bar, which will allow you to quickly access your friend list.įrom it you can start a conversation with any of the users if they are connected.
